Dreadnode, founded in 2023 in the United States, is positioned as AI-driven offensive cybersecurity, building advanced artificial intelligence systems for red teaming, exploit discovery, and adversarial simulation (pentesting). Rather than focusing on traditional defensive operations, Dreadnode develops dual-use intelligence tools that enhance the capabilities of both security teams and controlled offensive operators.

Central to Dreadnode’s approach is the creation of AI agents that work alongside human operators, expanding their reach, increasing test coverage, and uncovering complex exploit chains that manual red team exercises often miss.

Dreadnode has gained significant momentum, raising a $14 million Series A in February 2025. The round was led by Decibel with participation from Next Frontier Capital, In-Q-Tel (IQT), Sands Capital, and Indie VC.
