Open-Source LLM Output Validation and Safety Framework

Guardrails AI, founded in 2023 by co-founders Shreya Rajpal (CEO) and Diego Oppenheimer, is a San Francisco/Menlo Park-based startup focused on supplying a reliability layer for generative AI applications.

The company raised a $7.5 million seed round in March 2024, led by Zetta Venture Partners with participation from Bloomberg Beta, Pear VC, GitHub Fund and angels including Ian Goodfellow. Its flagship product allows developers to build, share and reuse validators (opensource rules or models) that wrap around LLMs to enforce correctness, privacy, bias mitigation and policy compliance, enabling enterprises to deploy GenAI systems with speed while reducing risk.
