The system continuously analyzes data flow patterns in source code during development, flagging risky behaviors such as unauthorized transmission of personally identifiable information (PII) or violations of data protection agreements. It provides real-time compliance scanning and generates detailed visual maps of internal system interactions and third-party integrations to clarify how data moves across environments.

HoundDog.ai also automates regulatory alignment by checking code and workflows against standards like GDPR Article 28, HIPAA, PCI DSS, and FedRAMP. By improving transparency around data handling and automating evidence gathering, the platform reduces audit preparation time, minimizes remediation costs, and strengthens overall supply chain risk management.

It hasn’t taken long for investors to take notice. The company raised $3.1 million in May 2024 in a seed round led by E14 Fund, Mozilla Ventures, and ex/ante. Unnamed angels also participated.
