AI-Powered Data Loss Prevention Against Insider Threats
Orion Security is an AI-driven data security platform focused on solving the limitations of traditional data loss prevention (DLP). Rather than rely on static rule sets or policy libraries, Orion applies contextual machine reasoning to monitor data flows across SaaS, cloud, email, web, and AI agents. Its core engine generates Indicators of Leakage, positioning the product as an EDR-like system for data in motion. The platform identifies what data is moving, determines its sensitivity through automated classification, and evaluates why it is moving, reducing false positives while highlighting true exfiltration risks.
Orion Security is built around three primary capabilities: Trace, Classify, and Protect. Trace creates a unified data graph that maps all data movement inside and outside an organization. Classify uses an LLM-based sensitivity model to categorize structured and unstructured data automatically. Protect applies real-time decisions — blocking, warning, or requiring justification — to intercept risky transfers and prevent exfiltration.
Orion emphasizes end-to-end visibility and consolidation, aiming to replace fragmented DLP deployments with a single system that spans SaaS apps, email, cloud workloads, unmanaged devices, and internal AI agents. The product also integrates with a wide range of enterprise systems, including Okta, Azure AD, Slack, Salesforce, GitHub, Google Workspace, AWS, Windows, and multiple identity, productivity, and security platforms.
Founded in February 2024, the Tel Aviv, Israel-based Orion Security scored a $32 million Series A just two years later in February 2026. The round was led by Norwest with participation from PICO Venture Partners and Lama Partners, and comes just 11 months after the company announced a $6 million seed round led by PICO.
