The platform directly applies patches to codebases rather than issuing reports, enabling immediate mitigation without manual intervention. It operates within existing development environments including CI/CD pipelines and IDEs to minimize disruption, acting as a virtual security collaborator alongside engineers. The system provides context-aware recommendations that address specific coding contexts, avoiding generic advice and aligning with project requirements while filtering out non-critical alerts through advanced threat modeling to prioritize exploitable flaws requiring action.

Founded in 2022, Pixee took in a seed round of $15 million in May 2025. The round was led by Decibel and Wing VC with participation from TEDCO and PrimeSet. Strategic investors were also a part of the round, including Zach Holman (an early GitHub engineer), Alex Rice (HackerOne founder and CTO), and Brian Chess (SVP of Cloud Operations at Oracle).
